In my last post I mentioned our soap business - let me introduce you to it!
The name comes straight from scripture...but it was before I even was apart of the business, or it even officially existed! Now, how is that, you may wonder? Well, my fiancé Anthony had originally planned to own a dairy. The kind with....well, with lots of cows. And lots of milk.
That was when he was a single pringle principal. Sorry, Anthony, but here comes Gabs barrelling into your life! (Insert winking emoji here).
Somewhere, somehow, we tried making soap. I don't recall why this was an idea, but it was. I remember as a kid, we would go to vendor shows and I would see the booths and want to make pretty soaps like they did. I remember browsing the Hobby Lobby soap aisles, wishing I could dabble in the craft. Well, it took Anthony to really help me take the plunge. I think I needed a partner in crime. And now I have one! Boy, do I have one!
As we became more established, Anthony came up with a brilliant idea which is now our main product. Our Scripture Soap (TM) line. We craft soaps, bath teas, and sugar scrubs with a certain scent, shape, and color. These aspects pertain to pieces of scripture, with the entire experience enveloping all your senses, transporting you straight into the Bible! The soaps and colors all match the theme of the scripture - for instance, Garden of Eden comes with a bar of soap shaped like an apple, as well as a lemon slice. The sugar scrub is red, yellow, and green, signifying the vibrant colors of the original paradise. The bath tea contains dried fruit, real fruit, such as apples and lemon peel. The aroma of citrus and apple takes us into Genesis. Everything we make is done with intent, heart, and yes, a lot of trial and error!
Our logo goes back to Anthony's original idea. While Mustard Seed Dairy & Creamery may not have any....well, dairy or cream products, it is the official name of our soap business. That cow in the logo is Faith, Anthony's Brown Swiss, and maybe someday, her milk will be the main ingredient in our soaps!
I will lead you to Anthony's blog to read more about it; https://perennialeducator.org/mustardseeddairy/ (@ Anthony Meals). He writes more officially than I do!
Thank you for taking the time to read. Have a blessed day!
